Gallery Entwistle Reservoir with the water at a very low level. The lowest I have ever seen the water during the last few years. At the golden hour the sun has created some striking images that are helped by the exposed areas that are usually under water.
Gallery The last sunlight on a midsummers evening over the Pennine moors. The wind farm and Blackpool tower are clearly visible on the coastline in the distance. Warm light bathes the pennines making painting like pictures.
Gallery Holcombe Hill after the grass fires. A normally picture postcard location looks barren and dramatic. Just shows how fragile the countryside is in adverse weather.
Gallery Blackpool Beach on a very windy and moody day. The tide is going out revealing some stunning shapes and textures. Stormy clouds and bright patchy sun has created some “different” pictures of an all too familiar place.
Gallery The pennine Moors on an extremely windy day. Swiftly changing light and rapidly moving clouds made some dramatic moody images. So windy I almost got blown off my feet !
Gallery The Lodge woods early on a bright summer’s morning. Very low strong sun creates a pattern of light through the canopy of leaves.
Gallery Avenham Park very early in the morning. The first sunlight creates stunning patterns of light through the trees and across the fields and paths.
Gallery A short walk around a couple of pathways in Hoghton. The ever present threat of rain in the air. Hazy sun and fast moving clouds break up a stormy sky.
Gallery The last hour of sunlight at the Leeds Liverpool Canal in Riley Green. That wonderful glow you only get as the sun fades into the horizon.
