Scout Moor on a freezing cold but bright sunny morning. The first rays of winter sun paint deep shadows and warm shapes and textures over the frozen landscape.

Hidden away in The Lodge in Hoghton is a river surrounded and shaded by the forest. On a bright sunny day the canopy of leaves creates a patchwork of light through the gaps in the trees.

The pennine moors are a beautiful place when it’s cold and the winter sun is at its Dramatic best. The sun never rises high in the sky but in the cold months that is perfect for stunning pictures.

Snowfall around Darwen and Entwistle. A combination of mist and snow has made some very simple but striking winter pictures.

A very long cold walk over Holcombe Hill. Up over the hill and through Buckden woods. Looking over to Scout Moor as the sun rises and lights up the hills and valleys from behind the morning clouds.

Drifting mist in Belmont is burnt away as the sun rises. A very damp cold morning with a calm atmosphere as the colours come out of the mist.
