Calf Hey Reservoir looking extremely empty. I was able to get down to the water line which is probably twenty feet lower than normal. The very changeable weather helped create some dramatic images with one minute sun and the next cloud and always the threat of rain. Sometimes bad weather can make the best pictures.

A glowing sunrise over the fields and forests in Hoghton. One of those mornings where the sunlight is yellow for the first hour. The shafts of sunlight in the forest create some stunning images.

Belmont Road before a rainstorm. A heavy downfall on its way over the west pennines. Stormy skies make dramatic pictures.

Entwistle Reservoir with the water at a very low level. The lowest I have ever seen the water during the last few years. At the golden hour the sun has created some striking images that are helped by the exposed areas that are usually under water.

The last sunlight on a midsummers evening over the Pennine moors. The wind farm and Blackpool tower are clearly visible on the coastline in the distance. Warm light bathes the pennines making painting like pictures.

Holcombe Hill after the grass fires. A normally picture postcard location looks barren and dramatic. Just shows how fragile the countryside is in adverse weather.
